Sports betting and iGaming leaders BetMGM has teamed up with Marriott Bonvoy, the renowned famous hotelier’s loyalty programme, to offer millions the opportunity to gain a host of real-world rewards.
In a move announced on March 18, players on the BetMGM sportsbook and its award-winning casino will be able to link their account to their Marriott Bonvoy one. Placing bets or wagering on casino games will enable them to earn points in those regions where the betting brand is licensed. Those points can then be exchanged for all manner of leisure experiences.
In a statement to accompany the launch, the pair said customers “can then exchange BetMGM Rewards points for Marriott Bonvoy points, up to 100,000 annually, which they can then use to redeem extraordinary experiences, including future free nights with Marriott Bonvoy’s more than 30 hotel brands and 10,000 destinations globally.”
Marriott International executive vice president and chief customer officer Peggy Roe said “This landmark collaboration between Marriott Bonvoy and BetMGM goes beyond hospitality and gaming, unlocking new opportunities for members to ignite their passions and deepen connections with the people and places they love.”
The headline opener for the partnership will give members the chance to win a VIP golfing vacation in Los Angeles along with three friends. They’ll be joined by NBA megastar Blake Griffin. The prize also includes travel costs, a three-night stay at the Santa Monica Proper Hotel, dining at one of Griffin’s favorite restaurants and box seats to a comedy show.
BetMGM is operational in 29 jurisdictions around the world, including 20 US states. The BetMGM Rewards Programme is fully integrated with its user interfaces. MGM Rewards is already one of the biggest of its kind in the iGaming, betting and entertainment sectors with 40 million members.
This new tie-in goes much further though with Marriott Bonvoy boasting 180 million participants giving BetMGM access to many more potential customers. That’s a point that’s already stressed by BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblat who stated that the collaboration would significantly extend the gambling brand’s reach.
All of MGM’s domestic hotels will be available for booking on Marriott’s website by the end of the year. MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy now also means that members can earn points to redeem for hotels and resort stays plus premium home rentals. It will also include experience breaks in the worlds of sports, dining, arts, music and culture among lots more sought-after perks.
MGM Rewards members already have access to discounted visits to some of the most famous properties in Las Vegas including Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, Bellagio, ARIA and Park MGM.
Existing MGM Reward customers can easily link their sportsbook and casino accounts to an existing Marriott Bonvoy profile. Doing so is as simple as heading to the My Rewards page on the BetMGM app, website or the BetMGM Rewards Store and selecting “Link a Marriott Bonvoy Account“.
To first register for a Marriott Bonvoy account, download the Marriott Bonvoy app from the Apple App Store or Google Play. Alternatively, follow the links on marriottbonvoy.com. Once the two accounts are associated, existing BetMGM members will be allocated to a matching Marriot Bonvoy tier.
To be entered into the sweepstake for the “Ultimate LA Getaway”, users will need to link their accounts before April 8. As well as the entertainment and travel rewards that can be unlocked by wagering on sports or at BetMGM’s online casino, customers will also gain access to a host of new and exclusive games.
